Distance between two grinding wheels are set to required ground length, enabling the springs to be ground in single or multiple pass depending on the geometry of springs. The springs to be ground are loaded on the carrier plate rotating at relatively lower speed between the grinding wheels.
In this method the down feed movement, return cycle of upper wheel is programmable with help of Electronic scale with digital readout, PLC, variable frequency drive and current controller. In this method variable spark-out time can be achieved for desired grinding quality and tolerance. This mode is advantageous for grinding relative stiff springs. This method of grinding can achieve close tolerances and high grinding finish.
